How do you focus on creating a better company? You first must focus.
Sounds silly doesn’t it?
But when we don’t focus–on a product, a service, a market, or an approach–then our efforts to better our company often fail to meet our expectations.
For business owners, focus seems risky. Large markets seem more attractive. Spreading the risk seems more attractive. It’s always the hardest discussion I have with my clients as it seems so “unentrepreneurial.”
But the opposite is true, especially for growing companies that have reached a tipping point where lack of focus has created profit-robbing complexity. Employees can become frustrated and customers become less happy.
So, if you want better for your company, try being more focused.
